About Us
The Arkansas Mental Health Counselors Association
Arkansas Mental Health Counselors Association (ArMHCA) is the official Charter of the American Mental Health Counselors Association in Arkansas (AMHCA). ArMHCA is the only professional association working exclusively to advance the practice of mental health counselors in Arkansas.
ArMHCA provides an annual conference in April with workshops and presentations
focused on mental health counseling. When you attend our conference you will
have the opportunity to receive up to 16 CEU's, including 2 hours in ethics for
counselors and 3 hours in ethics for Board approved LAC/LAMFT Supervisors. You
will receive up to date information regarding Arkansas Law and licensure
information. Each year our Corporate sponsors continue to grow as they provide
sponsorships, informational booths, and valuable networking for potential job
related opportunities.
ArMHCA reaches out to graduate students at Arkansas State University,
University of Central Arkansas, Henderson University, Harding University,
Southern Arkansas University, Arkansas Tech, John Brown University, UALR and
the University of Arkansas by establishing ArMHCA Student Chapters on
campus, providing speakers to discuss benefits provided by ArMHCA such as
professional development, continuing education, networking for employment,
licensure requirements, liability insurance information and practical real life
answers to your questions regarding the practice and opportunities of
mental health counseling in Arkansas.
We are the voice for about 1200 licensed mental health counselors in Arkansas.
We offer a quality Annual Conference, 20% discount for joining both ArMHCA and
AMHCA, a reduced student membership rate, a 20% discount to ArMHCA
members for training and prep material for the NCE and CCMHCE through the
Association for the Advanced Training in Behavioral Sciences, quality
professional liability insurance through CPH, legislative awareness, and
more importantly, a collective voice advocating for LAC's and LAMFT's
to be able to receive third party payment as a stand alone mental health
counseling professional.

consideration for appointment to the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling.

provide positive legislation to address issues related to counseling in
Arkansas.
